Andrew's martial arts journey began during his service in the US Army Reserve, where he embarked on training and refining his skills. While attending the University of New Mexico, he encountered a group of amateur martial artists who became an invaluable support system and tight-knit community. One of his initial mentors, a longtime student of Greg Jackson, recognized Andrew's potential and encouraged him to elevate his training. Responding to this advice, Andrew joined Jackson's MMA in 2008, marking a significant turning point in his martial arts career.
With a Bachelor's degree in political science and a profound appreciation for history, Star Trek, anime, and video games, Andrew brings a distinctive personality and perspective to the gym. His diverse range of interests enriches his interactions with students and fellow fighters, fostering a dynamic learning environment.
Starting as a NO-GI grappler, Andrew progressed through regional grappling tournaments, ascending from Novice to Advanced levels. He then ventured into kickboxing smokers and amateur MMA matches, amassing an impressive record of 6-0, with five victories secured via submission. Andrew's professional journey saw him attain a record of 7-1, highlighted by securing the Colorado-based TopShelf Entertainment Featherweight Championship Belt and notching two wins for the Legacy Fighting Alliance promotion.
Beyond his own achievements as a fighter, Andrew's coaching prowess has been a source of pride. He represented the Jackson Wink MMA Exchange Program in China, where he guided the Sunkin International Fight Club and the Chinese World Amateur MMA team to remarkable heights. Under his leadership, the team secured important victories, including the country's first World Mixed Martial Arts Association medals and Sunkin's triumph in the nationwide Chin Woo Men team tournament.

Our main training location in Albuquerque, New Mexico is a 30,000 square facility equipped with everything a fighter needs to train and prepare for a fight. Our gym includes a full-size octagon, lots of heavy bags, wrestling mats, a strength and conditioning area, cardio area, pro shop, and more.
